Bullring Shopping Centre

The original centre opened in 1964. it was redeveloped in 2000 and reopened in 2003. It has 160 shops including the fourth largest Debenhams in the country, 25 restaurants and a landmark Selfridges department store with a futuristic design.

There are plenty of other places to shop in the city. Grand Central is above the redeveloped New Street station and has the biggest John Lewis store outside London, and there’s also the Mailbox, Great Western Arcade, Martineau Place, Custard Factory, Minories and out of town centres including The Fort, Castle Vale Retail Park and Battery Retail Park. The largest M&S in the region is at Longbridge on the outskirts of Birmingham.

Cadbury World

The chocolate-themed attraction opened in 1990 on Cadbury’s Birmingham manufacturing site and has expanded many times since.

Visits offer a tour – not around the factory itself but through several exhibitions telling the story of chocolate and Cadbury. These include a re-creation of the premises in Bull Street, Birmingham, where Victorian entrepreneur John Cadbury started the business. There’s also a chocolate-making demonstration, play area, 4D cinema, cafe and the World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop.

Home to over 700 jewellers and independent retailers, a thriving food and drink scene and an area steeped in incredible history, the Jewellery Quarter is one of the UK’s most unique destinations.

Birmingham Hipporome Theatre

Home to the Birmingham Royal Ballet Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre is one of the City’s most exciting and vibrant theatres, with a dramatic tradition that spans over one hundred years.

Thanks to a major £30m redevelopment programme, Birmingham Hippodrome is no longer simply a theatre – albeit with one of the largest stages in the country and a seating capacity of 1850 – but a theatre complex, offering event facilities, meeting rooms, a large restaurant overlooking the Piazza with an award winning in-house catering team, spacious foyers with lifts to all levels and a new flexible studio.

With a reputation for staging some of the country’s best musicals, ballets, operas and pantomimes, Birmingham Hippodrome is an events venue with a difference, offering facilities that are second to none. 

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Being one of Birmingham’s best attractions, The Birmingham Botanical Gardens offers something for everyone, be it one of our four stunning glasshouses showing tropical rainforest to arid desert, playground, tearoom and garden gift shop all surrounded by some of the most beautiful gardens in the UK.

There are four glasshouses which range from our exotic Tropical House through to our SubtropicalMediterranean and Arid Houses. There is a large lawn in front of the glasshouses with a range of beds and shrubberies around its perimeter. Overall, the character is that of a Victorian public park with a bandstand set in 15 acres (6.1 ha) of landscaped greenery.
